Best advice about finding facebook friends is to have same list of friends on this big community as you have in real life. It has no use of adding some friend that is not your social buddy in reality. As matter a fact, you can bring negative karma if you add somebody that you know but will not speak with in real life. All your friends will able to see your profile as long as you allow them to see. You may lock one part of your profile to some friends. When you add somebody, access to view profile is mutual (they can see your contact informations, pictures, videos and you can see their’s). If somebody lock you some part of his/her profile, advice is that you do same with that person.
When some friend do action on facebook, you will see this action move on News feed. You will see it on Home page something like friends changed their profile pictures, status updates, tagged friends, joined groups, friends with …., messages on wall and other activities involving you and your friend.
As you realize, best thing is to confirm and send requests to people you know, so you will have quality list of friends that you can answer or ask for something even without cellphone. If you want to add friend on facebook, you need to send a request. You can do that on two ways, by typing in person name and sending a request or by email via friend finder. You can find friend finder on right side of facebook window. This little tools is used for sending request to person that you have email even you can invite him to join facebook if he/she isn’t here.
Click on “Friends” button on left side (under “Photos” button), and on drop-down menu you will see friend finder (see the picture). After you enter correct email address and appropriate password (for that email address, not facebook). After you enter it, you will see contact that have facebook account so you can send them a friend request by clicking Add everyone as a friend. Next you will see is list of contacts that doesn’t have account so you can click “Invite” button to call them to join your network.
If you maybe have address book with list of email contacts, select upload a contact file – as you see on picture. Facebook will automatically insert import addresses as list of facebook accounts.
You may also import contacts from AOL Instant Messenger, ICQ or Windows Live Messenger from from that you see on picture. You just need to type in screen name and password and all your contacts that you have on that messenger will show up as friends (or invites) on your account. There is also option (after you add some friends) Suggestion that facebook will suggest you some friends that are friends of your friends that you maybe know, so you will not need to search for them.
Also you can find something called Classmate search. With this type of search, you can find all your friends that were going to same high school or university with you. So search suspects that you maybe know them. Type School Name and Person’s Name and list of people you may known will show up. There is also possibility to find friends by company that you working for and name of that person you looking for. You can also filter your friends… How? You can create friends list and put all friends you want in it. The easiest way to create one is to go on right bottom corner in Chat window box and click “Friend Lists”. You will see option to “Create new list” and give it a name.
