Facebook Emoticons are little icons which can be used in chat conversations and Facebook statuses. There are standard emoticons and special emoticons which need to be downloaded first. Special emoticons are animated and are much cooler than standard ones. When you download new emoticons they will show up automatically on your Facebook.

Standard Facebook emoticons can only be used in the chat, and they are used by writing emoticon shortcut into the chat box. When you write the shortcut and press Enter your shortcut will transform into the emoticon and your friend will see the real emoticon.
New Facebook emoticons don’t have to be entered manually into the chat box, so you don’t have to memorize any codes. When you install the application with new emoticon a new function will be opened in Facebook – a box with the list of clickable emoticons. Now you will only have to click the emoticon you would like to send to your friend and emoticon will be sent. And that’s not all, you will be able to use hundreds of new emoticon in your status. And there is even more – you will be able to send animated winks (funny animations) to your friends.
